Frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions about buying, financing and trading in with JB.

Buying a car

Do I buy the car from JB or from the dealership?

From the dealership. JB is a sales consultant there, and CarsWithJB is his personal website. The dealership is the seller, so your purchase agreement, financing paperwork and title are all with the dealership.

Is the price on the site the total I will pay?

No. Listed prices don't include tax, title, registration or the dealer processing fee, and every price on the site says so. The payment calculator adds tax and fees so you can see an estimate of the full amount.

Do you have used cars too?

Yes. The dealership sells new Nissans and used cars of every make. Every used car on this site is labeled Used.

What if the car I want isn't listed?

Use Find my car to tell JB what you want: the make and model or just the kind of car, your budget and your timeline. He'll look at his store and in incoming stock and let you know what he finds.

Pre-qualification

What is pre-qualification?

A short form about your budget, down payment, job and income. It helps JB suggest cars that fit what you want to spend. It isn't a credit application or a loan offer, and there's no credit check to fill it out.

Does pre-qualifying mean I will get a loan?

No. Only a lender can make a credit decision, after you complete a credit application through the dealership's finance office. We can't promise you'll be approved, and your rate depends on the lender's review.

Will you ask for my Social Security number?

No. No form on this site asks for your Social Security number, date of birth, driver's license number or bank account numbers. Please don't send them by text or email either.

Trade-ins

Can I trade in my current car?

Yes. On the trade-in page, share the VIN or the year, make and model, the mileage, the car's condition and a few photos. JB looks it over himself and follows up with a number. There's no automatic online valuation.

What if I still owe money on my trade-in?

Tell JB roughly how much you still owe when you share your trade-in. The payoff is handled in the purchase paperwork, and the payment calculator lets you include it in your estimate.

Credit and financing

Can I pre-qualify if my credit isn't perfect?

Yes. The pre-qualification form lets you pick the credit range that fits you best, including rebuilding and no credit history, and JB will be straight with you about your options. The lender makes the credit decision, so we can't promise you'll be approved.

What APR will I get?

Your real APR comes from a lender after it reviews a credit application. The payment calculator uses illustrative estimates for each credit range, so treat its results as a starting point, not an offer of credit.

Documents

What should I bring to the dealership?

Usually your driver's license and proof of insurance. If you're trading in, bring the title or your loan details and all the keys. If you're financing, the lender may ask for proof of income or residence. JB will tell you what your purchase needs before you come in.

Should I send my documents by text or email?

Please don't. Don't send photos of your license, pay stubs or bank statements by text or email. Anything the lender needs is collected by the dealership's finance office.
